There is a clock hanging against the ugly wallpaper in my kitchen, ticking steadily, like the steady beating of your heart. And it becomes a kind of puzzle, to see how long you can count the seconds leading up to a minute. 1 mississippi. 2 mississippi. 3 mississippi. I lose count after 206 mississippi because it takes a second to say "two-hundred-and-six" and another second to say "mississippi". You know, there are 206 bones in the human body. I would let them break every single one, just so I could see you one more time.

ReplyDeleteNice post, i really like your tattoo!!
Take a look at;

Thanks - they aren't real tattoos, just temporary ones of cats and dogs. :)
DeleteIf that is your "ugly" wallpaper in the first photo then, well, I have to say ... I love it. :) I actually wrote a poem a long time ago, one that compared a heart to a clock. It was a line or two, but this reminded me of that. I love the switch from counting to bones. Just stunning. And it really has a sense of want.
ReplyDeleteAlso, these photos remind me of The Public Diary. Have you ever visited that blog? You should check it out, if you haven't. http://stefannysite.blogspot.com/
Oh my gosh, I love the Public Diary. Her photographs are so amazing. I feel like I could never reach that level.
DeleteI am glad you like the little story, I actually hate the sound of the ticking clock, it is enough to drive me insane!
So pretty!
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful photos ♥
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful. I hate the ticking of clocks, it reminds me there's an end to everything.

♥
Exactly. And I never want to see the end of it all.
Deletei hope that's not the ugly wallpaper you're referring to because it's lovely! and so is your writing, it was beautiful to read. i like that you write things like that for your blog it's so much more personal than "here's what i wore" etc.
ReplyDeleteHahahah, I call it my "ugly" wallpaper because it is so old-fashion. But yeah I love it dearly. I am glad you like it! You know it is funny because I always WISH I could do "what I wore" posts, but honestly, I dress like an old man, not much to show off unfortunately hahaah.
DeleteHow amazing is it that we only have 206 bones in our bodies? It's a big number but the same time so little. It is just so fascinating. As are your words, per usual.
ReplyDeleteIt's also funny how much our heart can ache for one thing, something as simple as a 'Hi'.
All my love,
Fliss
I was told that we are born with more than 206 bones in our body, but they fuse as we get older. And I agree, sometimes a simple Hi is enough to make everything stop hurting.
DeleteWow Liz, such a beautiful wallpaper. Very sweet and relaxing. The Remembrall, xo.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! It's the wallpaper in our dining room actually, not that we use it much.
DeleteAw your wallpaper is really cute actually! So are your temporary tattoos :)
ReplyDeleteTemporary tattoos are the best, I forgot how crazy I was about them when I was younger!
DeleteThat wallpaper is amazing. These pictures are gorgeous.
