Christmas was a quiet affair. Fingers dipped in glitter, popcorn on the stove, sparkling apple cider. I spent most of today indoors, looking for all the lost girls and waiting for the weather to make up its mind: it keeps oscillating between bitter cold sunshine and slushy snow. It’s one of those days where you are constantly running out of tea, thoughts, and toast. Tired to the bone because I am missing spring dreadfully. I’d leave for somewhere warmer, but I couldn’t bear to leave winter behind. Being left behind is the worst feeling in the world.

  1. I love these pictures! To be honest I've been loving the cold and snow, but that's because it's such a novelty for me, haha. Have a good new year's!

    1. I am glad you are enjoying it here! I'm okay with snow, but so not okay with slush. It just makes everything soggy and slippery!

  2. Gorgeous pictures! And I know what you mean by the snow. Here in Wisconsin it can be a lengthy winter and there have been many times when I wish I was someplace warm. But snow is just so magical and I can't ever leave a place that has all four seasons!

    Hope you got more tea!

  5. Being left behind certainly is a horrible feeling, but apart from that, I do love reading your words. It's a great thing to be able to come on blogger and read your posts. You certainly do have a way with them.

Anyway, I wish you a happy new year liz! To you, all the best :)

  6. A Holga! Just what I want. :) It was actually on my wish list this year but, alas, no luck thus far. :/ I see that the death card has made an appearance on this post as well. You shouldn't be TOO jealous of our snow. The temperatures have dropped, so it is very cold and windy now. I think tonight and tomorrow we'll be getting another 1-3 inches, though I'm not sure. I'm much more of a warmer weather person, though fall is definitely my favorite. However, there is always something to love in winter, an often detested season. It offers the purity of the snow, its quiet blanket of white. It has sledding, skating, seasonal coffees and Christmas carols and all else that makes us smile during cozy winter nights.

    1. Holgas are fun to play with, but film is expensive to develop! Love all those winter activities! Especially sledding!

  7. I'm so happy you commented on my quiet little blog, because I wouldn't have found yours if you hadn't. I've been looking for a nice blog dedicated to writing for a while, and yours is just wonderful. Definitely one I will be looking into often! Also, just a thought, do you take these photos or are they from the internet? they are lovely. :)
