Summertime Sadness

Two summers ago, we were caught in a hurricane that nearly drowned us all. When we finally made it out of the churning water, spitting brine and shivering as the wind whipped our clammy shoulder, we swore we would never come back to this godforsaken shore. One summer ago, we found ourselves back where we started, waiting for the moon to set as Aquila trekked across the sky. And this summer? This summer, my thoughts are floating away, floating on the open ocean, only to be replaced with an echoing sort of emptiness. It was reckless of me to think that I would be okay. I'm not. I'm not. The tide falls back and I am irrevocably lost without you.

    1. Thanks! I love going to the beach, even though sand gets everywhere. Not sure how I feel about the pony though (it was pretty small actually), they kind of just go around and beg for food.

    1. Thank you Louise. I definitely think the pictures feel nostalgic, mainly cause they were taken a month ago and when I was editing, I was thinking about the past. Glad you enjoyed these!

  5. Just like Louise said up here - this pictures are very nostalgic. I like your writings. I feel kinda lost too. Sometimes we need to turn of our humanity, and stop thinking for a while and find the things we have, but that are hiden. We never realy lost everything. We are just a tinny part of a big things that is nature. Beautiful blue, matches with your words.

  6. Is that a wild pony? I used to love seeing them when I lived in Devon, but here in Canada you don't see any :(
I nominated you for a Liebster award, by the way. I had no idea what it was at first so if you don't, you can check it out here :)

    1. Yep! A wild pony going around the beach at lunch time to get some cuddling and food. I normally don't get to see wild ponies since it's a bit of a drive to get to Assateague island (location pictured), but it is pretty worth it.
