Indeed! The first picture is going to haunt me for awhile, especially since I've dreaded one more wretched summer in the suburbs! lord knows i've had far too many. "to have made it this far, i must have believed a little." medicine for a heart that too often protects itself with cynicism
I'd love to know where these photos are from---are they captions from a movie? The first image hits close to home; I'll probably be stuck in the suburbs this summer, and being cooped up is the worst feeling of all.
i truly love your posts. they are full of art and love for life, yet a certain kind of melancholy. i'm following you. besides i wanted to thank for your comment on my blog.
I was really confused at first about whether or not these were from a real movie, but I guessed you must have made them yourself because if they were from a real movie I thought I would have seen them somewhere else before because they are really cool. They feel really emotional even though the most human feature in them is the arms. I love pictures of objects grouped together that carry a lot of emotion. How is it that we sense emotion in images of emotionless things? Also, in the first picture, I love that red Pilot pen. I love those Pilot pens, they aren't "the best" pens in the world, but I am really comfortable with how they look and how they write. I especially love writing in the red pen because it is really uncomfortable for people to look at. My teachers would get annoyed because I liked to write in red pen. Why do they sell red pens all over the place if we aren't supposed to write with them?
There is something so nostalgic about all these images. Summer in the suburbs... Well, I'll spend Summer working and it's just as shitty ahah. Love the light in the 2nd picture. Well done^^
I am mesmerized by the first picture so much, this is really neat.
ReplyDeleteThanks Louise! I was bored and pretending to run away to another country hahaa.
DeleteLove the third photo very much :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellie! I went down to Navy Pier hoping to see what was going on, until I realize everything is closed in the winter!!

I know right! I don't know how we survived all of them!!
DeleteThese are amazing. I love the concept and the colour is just so enticing.
ReplyDeleteThe last one is the favourite for me but they are all so good.

Thanks Meg! A lot of blues and yellows - not my usual color scheme!
DeleteAll of life is an escape from something, isn't it?

Another Beautiful Thing
Thanks Brittney! They aren't captions in a real movie, but an imaginary movie in my head hahaa. And I agree, being cooped up is the worst!
DeleteThese are beautiful - love the subtitles/captions you added! They could definitely be movie stills.
ReplyDeletelove these! i thought they were screenshots from a movie but now i'm guessing you just added the text onto your photos. that's a really cool idea. :)
