Mushroom quiche that melts in your mouth, Uniqlo oxford shirts and sweaters, blue morpho butterflies, art afternoons.
Waking up in New York City is an hour-long process. First the rumble of the garbage truck down the narrow alleyway at 6 A.M., then the whistle of the subway making the sidewalk tremble, and finally the slow murmur of workers bustling through the narrow streets. The bed is cold and by 7, the hot water boiler is on again and I am settling down to a fourth cup of tea, sitting by my window-side perch, waiting for the sky to turn blue.

I was just thinking about how much I wish we had Uniqlo here... I bought the white oxford shirt for myself a the blue one for a friend when I was in NYC! Your words make me miss that city, it took a while for me to click with NYC but the process (so to speak) was worth it.
ReplyDeleteI know right! Uniqlo is so fantastic...it is the only store where everything fits properly??? Love the oxford shirts. And I agree, it takes a bit of getting used to - it can be rather overwhelming. I think I like it better when it is warmer hahh.
Deletecare for the fifth round, my dear? this time, sit here with me <3
ReplyDeleteMost definitely! We can drink English breakfast until the afternoon!
DeleteGosh, i really like the last photo. Looks like a whisper! The Remembrall , xx
ReplyDeleteMost definitely. I believe it is an ink drawing, but I don't have the name of the artist sadly.
DeleteLove the blues in the pictures, it's peaceful and equally uplifting.
ReplyDeleteWinter blues I suppose (though I guess that is rather cheesy). I do enjoy blue tones and I find that most of my pictures lack those colors, I seem to be more attractive to reds and yellows.
DeleteI agree with True My Lens. Everything is very peaceful. The last image is very light, almost breathy. It reminds me of the wind, perhaps a light breeze in the early morning of spring.
ReplyDeleteBlue is a very calming color indeed. Ah spring...I suppose it is just around the corner? Soon it will be time to get out the rainboots and go flower hunting in the woods heheheh.
Deletewow that quiche looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteeven though i'm not really a morning person, i feel like waking up at 6am in new york just to sit and look out the window with a cup of tea (or 4) would be so wonderful! it really is the little things that make a day special. :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a morning person either! But in NYC, I alternate between waking up early and sleeping till noon. It is an awful cycle hhahaha.
