Being alone is not the same as being lonely. Loneliness is old mansions covered in dust and sitting out in the rain without an umbrella. Or drinking tea underneath the October moon at 3 in the morning, waiting for the dogs to stop barking. It is walking through the neighborhood every Sunday afternoon, shredding tree bark and staring blankly ahead; not even the birds try to disturb you. It's the feeling of being too far away from here, there, wherever that is. That unreachable distance which is fathoms below, lightyears away. I could get use to being alone (in many ways I already have), but I could never get used to this loneliness.

What a breathtaking piece! I agree, being alone is quite different from being lonely, and I too, would not be able to get used to loneliness. :( I do hope you're doing well though. The pictures you've shown are stunning and magical. How are you doing, lovely? I miss reading your posts and seeing your wonderful photos. xxxx
