Pretty Strangers

It comes at you slowly. And before you know it you are staring into a stranger's face, sitting in a stranger's body, and living in a stranger's house. All that you can hear is the sound of ladybugs crawling in the library and the click of someone turning on the lights. You've become another pale face in the audience. Whispering, turning pages, washing hands, eating, drinking, sleeping, dying.

When did it become so easy to lose yourself?

  1. Oh, this is so sad. The last line is so powerful and yet so fragile. You spin your words from the fnest silk, dear. I do hope I never lose myself - though I think it's easier to lose sense of who we truly are in this day and age.. just look at what Christmas has become, how commercialised it all is now.

  2. This frightens me a bit, losing one's sense of self. I think this is how I'm going to feel next year, because all foundations are gone when you move. New house, new school, new friends, new hobbies - the lot. I'm just praying I don't get too lost in the crowd.
